Really?!

The things people say.  I tell ya.  I read on another blog about how many stupid comments she's had to endure throughout her pregnancy and while I have been lucky to avoid a lot of it...I still have heard my fair share.

Example 1:  From a coworker I hadn't seen in a while:  OMG! You're HUGE!  That's going to be a huge baby!  Get ready.

Also (from another coworker):  How's the twins?  Me:  Twins?  Her:  Yeah.  There's no way that's one in there...

Wow.  Gee thanks.  B/c that's what I want to hear when I've already been stressing about him being too big.

Example 2:  From (I'll leave this one anonymous):  How's everything going? You know I had a friend have a miscarriage at 8 months.  They don't even know why.  Everything was fine and then all the sudden...  It was really sad.

No really?  And thanks for telling me this when I was 6 months.  WHO DOES THAT?!?!?

Example 3:  From an oblivious neighbor after finding out we were on our way back form a childbirth class and then STILL having to ask Nick the next day:  I didn't know you were pregnant!?!  I mean I could see you were getting big but I just thought you were gaining weight.    Me:  Really?!?  When all the weight is here *rubs belly*??  Him:  Well my mama taught me better than to say something to a girl about getting fat.

GEE THANKS!!  Perhaps you needed a few more lessons with your 'mama' b/c you still don't quite get it.

Numerous people:  Oh JUST WAIT!  You'll never sleep again! ... You'll have the worst time at the end with the high blood pressure and swelling! ...  Oh this is nothing.  It's way worse in another month. ...  Wait until [insert nasty TMI birth/horror detail] happens! ...  Are you going to get an epidural?   (FYI there is NO RIGHT answer for this!!!  If you say idk...kinda playing it by ear - people have an opinion.  If you say...probably - people judge and have comments.)    SMH!!!

Jen just take those comments and let it roll off your shoulders. I think you look great and are doing well.

Oh Sweetie, where is that onesie when you need it. But we all know that you can't really listen to that one coworker as her way of answering things and telling things is always...intersting.

When I need a good laugh to start my day off, I always know where to go. I can't wait for Aiden to read these one day and cry laughing like I am. You are doing a great job handling all of these crazy peoples' comments. You are the best! Now, hurry up and get here little man, I'm ready to find out if you were laughing about the ice cream too!!! xoxo

Words of Wisdom

We could learn a lot from crayons: some are sharp, some are pretty, some are dull, some are broken, some are whole, some have weird names, and all are different colors.... but they all learn to live in the same box.
