Birthday Season

It's that time again...birthdays, birthdays and more birthdays!

So Happy Birthday to you.  Happy Birthday to me. (no, i'm not full of myself)  Happy Birthday to all those poor unfortunate souls (myself included) who have to go back or be back in school on their birthday.

So whether you're turning 56, 36, 31, 28, 27, 25, or 8.

Happy Birthday!

I love you!

And my life is definitely better because you're in it.

I even (successfully) attempted a from scratch, homemade pie this year for Nick.  Not bad. Not bad.

Coconut Cream Pie
with toasted coconut on top

Definitely looks better and not nearly as messy as last years coconut mess
(even though it was delicious).

Snowball Cake 2010
And this...even though I KNOW this one was super delicious...

Sorry Sterling... *hides*

Haven't quite decided on what kind of cake/pie/cookie/birthday dessert I want for my bday yet. All I do know for sure is that my bday 'cake' will have nothing to do with coconut! Any suggestions?

My suggestion is a turtle cake, chocolate, pecans and caramel. Sounds perfect to me!!!

You know I would never try to kill you. I have told you many times what all I would do to keep you healthy. If that's too sweet a red velvet cake will always do.

How about ice cream cake, for quite a few years that was what your birthday cake was!!

What ever you have for your birthday dessert, remember it was made by someone who loved and cared enough to remember you and your special day. If you share it with others better yet.
Love you always, Dad

We could learn a lot from crayons: some are sharp, some are pretty, some are dull, some are broken, some are whole, some have weird names, and all are different colors.... but they all learn to live in the same box.
