Fast forward 2 hours...
He's moping around - refusing to play at recess - refusing to eat the Friday Snack...
I hear him mumble: "I wanna go home."
Me: "Are you still upset about the test? Because trust me, it is OKAY! You spelled 'monster' right and that is much harder than 'with'. You did a great job on the test!"
Him: "*pouts...sighs...mopes some more* No. I don't want to be here. I just want to go home now."
Me: Why?
Him: "Because I like it there."
Me: *ponders this Truth...*
Me too kiddo... me too.

You are not kidding. My house, or yours, are my two favorite places to be, especially when THAT place is the alternative. So, kudos to that kid for already knowing the truth!
Good point. I was really thinking I could use that Truth in any situation. "I don't wanna be at the dr/grocery shopping/running errands... I want to go home...b/c i like it there."
LOL - smart kid to have already figured this out in life. :)
Considering the type of class you have....yeah Smart kid....but you know, street smarts and common sense can go a lot farther than book sense anyday.
Good that he knows this but what child shouldn't feel like home is where he likes to be. Too bad he couldn't feel good about being able to spell "monster"
