Things I've learned...

You never stop learning. It's true.

Just today I had another instance of *open mouth...insert foot*.

I'll give you a little background. Just last year - I learned that sometimes people acutally need yet another tissue every 20 minutes for legit reasons. I never got it until I got sick one time last year and could not stop the constant flow coming from my nose (TMI I know). I always just assumed that they wanted an excuse to get up and walk across the room. I had no idea. But I learned. And now you won't hear me saying a WORD to someone who feels the need to get up and get a tissue every 5 seconds. True story.

So what did I learn today?

I learned that sometimes, on occasion a nose can make A LOT of noise and sound like it is full and overflowing but when you try, and I mean actively try to blow it...nothing comes out. I don't know how many times I've said something to the effect of, "if I can hear it in there when you breathe - then I KNOW that you can go blow it and get it OUT" or "doesn't that bother you to hear it and feel it in there but not blow it out?". Yeah - Callous. Harsh. Cold. I know. But in my defense it is G.R.O.S.S. to hear it in there and wonder (worry) that on any given deep exhale - it might all come out. *shudders*

So what I take from today's lesson - is that as nasty as it sounds (and feels) to KNOW there is stuff in there - sometimes it just won't come out no matter how hard to try to get it out. End. Of. Story.

One more pondering - why do my Kleenex tissues have freaking sparkles in them?!? Sparkles do nothing for softness/soothingness. My nose and surrounding area is raw and in pain no matter how pretty it looks being all sparkly.

Words of Wisdom

We could learn a lot from crayons: some are sharp, some are pretty, some are dull, some are broken, some are whole, some have weird names, and all are different colors.... but they all learn to live in the same box.
